Atherton, California, whose family income averaged $540,600 or more in 2018, topped the Bloomberg Richest Places annual index for 2018-2019.
Atherton Mayor Bill Widmer said the streets and lot sizes of at least an offer residents privacy with Facebook, Google and Stanford University all a short drive away.
And for 2nd place, Scarsdale, New York, north of Manhattan, moved up from 3rd to the No. 2 spot on this year’s list as its residents enjoyed a $32,000 increase, normally, in annual household income in the previous year 2018.

A Chicago suburb seven kilometers north of Northwestern University, Glencoe, climbed five places to land for the first time in the top 10.
More than half of the top 100 richest places in America were in the NYC area or California. A handful of Southwest and Midwest areas made the top 25.
